Ad agencies have a tendency to talk to themselves. Technology companies often speak a language only they understand. Marketing walked out on sales a while ago and the two of them don’t spend much time together these days. Meanwhile, consumers talk amongst themselves - in cafés, cubicles, and chatrooms.
It’s time to bring things together again. Marketing and sales should be close. Brands should understand the consumer, and vice versa. Marketers should understand when and how their efforts are getting results. And wouldn’t it be nice if investment got back together with return?
